Type genus: ¤ Desulfurobacterium L'Haridon et al. 1998.
Etymology: N.L. neut. n. Desulfurobacterium, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Desulfurobacteriaceae, the Desulfurobacterium family.
