Holophaga Liesack et al. 1995, gen. nov. (Type genus of the order ¤ Holophagales Fukunaga et al. 2008; type genus of the family ¤ Holophagaceae Fukunaga et al. 2008).
Type species: ¤ Holophaga foetida Liesack et al. 1995.
Etymology: Gr. adj. holos, entire; Gr. v. phagein, to eat; N.L. fem. n. Holophaga, eating all.
